Bitcoin wallet service Coinbase became the third major bitcoin platform to suffer security issues last week after the company warned of a phishing email on Friday.

    According to VentureBeat, the email asked members to enter their Coinbase information on a third-party website. In some cases, Coinbase user information was also discoverable via a basic Google search.

    Another bitcoin wallet, Instawallet, has been shut down indefinitely since suffering its own hack on Tuesday. The price of bitcoin then took a temporary nosedive after Mt. Gox , the largest bitcoin market in the world, was compromised by a DDoS attack as well.
