Credit Card Usage Declines For Third Consecutive Month

U.S. credit-card usage declined for a third straight month, but consumer credit increased more than expected in August, according to Yahoo Finance. Federal Reserve data indicated on Monday that total consumer credit advanced to $3.04 trillion. 

Revolving credit, which measures credit-card use, declined by $883.41 million, and nonrevolving credit, including auto and student loans, rose by $14.51 billion in August.
