Diebold, Paydiant Team For Smartphone ATM Withdrawals

Global security system giant Diebold and mobile wallet provider Paydiant announced a new partnership on July 18 that will allow consumers to withdraw cash from ATMs using their smartphones, a press release for the companies said.

The companies said the new technology will give consumers a more convenient and secure way to access cash. Financial institutions will be able to provide a mobile wallet solution without installing additional hardware at ATMs or point of sale (POS) terminals.

“Banks and retailers want to keep their consumers within their own mobile applications for doing things like paying for goods and services or accessing cash, rather than allowing other third parties to come between them and their customer relationships,” Chris Gardner, co-founder of Paydiant, said in a statement.
