The United Bank for Africa Kenya announced a partnership with the Kenya Revenue Authority that will enable Kenyan consumers to pay for domestic taxes electronically, reported Humanipo. Consumers can pay for income taxes, VAT, turnover taxes and domestic excise tax using electronic services from KRA’s collection account in UBA.
The project aims to improve convenience and accountability while also saving the long periods of time it generally takes to complete tax return paperwork.
“With this new system, taxpayers will be able to file returns electronically, make payments and enquire about their tax status online, while monitoring their accounts in real-time,” Alice Owuor, commissioner of domestic taxes said.
