Judge Green Lights eHailing Services In New York City

Justice Carol Huff has dismissed a lawsuit against the New York Taxi and Limousine Commission aiming to block a new eHailing pilot in the city, TechCrunch reports.

    The lawsuit filed by the black car industry claimed that the pilot program would violate city ordinances, and would have “blurred the line between cabs … and for-hire vehicles.”

    The case’s dismissal will allow eHailing companies such as Hailo, Taxi Magic and Flywheel to apply for participation in the TLC trial. TechCrunch notes that Uber has filed for participation as well.
