October Sales Rise As Retailers Restock Shelves

U.S. retailers posted year-over-year, same-store sales gains in October, Reuters reported on November 7.  

The media outlet indicated that overall growth in the sector during the third quarter was driven in part by retailers’ efforts to restock shelves ahead of the holiday season. However, retailers stated that consumer spending remains weak.
