RadioShack Redesigns Stores To Be “Electronics Playgrounds”

Radioshack opened the doors to a redesigned New York store on July 1 that aims to appeal to technology shoppers, MarketWatch reports.

    With the location, RadioShack’s said it wants to turn its stores into an “electronics playground” that will highlight products from major brands like Apple, HTC and Samsung, and feature interactive displays that allow customers to preview products. 

    “Similar to [Best Buy], where new management is well on its way to an entire overhaul of the company’s culture, this store is a solid step in the direction of this overhaul,” David Stresser, an analyst at financial services firm Janney Capital, told MarketWatch.

    RadioShack said it plans to open different prototype stores in New York, New Jersey and Texas over the coming weeks.
