Australia-based accounting software solution provider Reckon announced a new mobile payments solution on September 20, BoxFreeIT reported.
Called Reckon Pay, the solution is a smartphone-based EFTPOS terminal that can accept credit card and EFTPOS transactions. The data is then sent directly to Reckon’s cloud accounting program.
Verifone will provide Reckon with the card reader, while NAB is supplying a merchant account in the integrated solution, the media outlet noted.
“We’ve traditionally had a bigger penetration of EFTPOS devices than other markets in the world so we knew that we had to come from a very secure base,” Nathan Churchward, a product manager at NAB Business Banking, said, according to BoxFreeIT. “And that’s why our device is more like a tiny EFTPOS terminal than a dongle you might see referred to in other markets.”
