La Caixa, a Spanish bank, has partnered with a number of the country’s telecommunications providers as part of a mobile NFC payments roll-out taking place over the next two months, Finextra reported on December 17.
Telefónica, Vodafone and Orange will work with la Caixa ahead of the mobile payments service’s soft launch in January. Combined, these providers account for 80 percent of Spain’s telecom market.
