Study Ranks Countries’ Contactless Card Usage

The study found that contactless cards are most popular in Australia, Canada, Poland and the U.K. Demand has lagged in the United States due to a lack of contactless POS terminals, the researchers concluded. The ratio of contactless cards in use to terminals in the U.S. is approximately 600:1.

“This compares with ratios of around 200:1 in the U.K., 70:1 in Poland, 50:1 in France and 15:1 in Spain,” the report read, according to the media outlet. br>
