T.J. Maxx Revives Online Presence

Massachusetts-based department store chain T.J. Maxx launched a new online store on Tuesday, foregoing a formal announcement, The Boston Globe reported on September 18.

The move comes eight years after the retailer’s first attempt to develop an online presence proved unsuccessful.

“Last time, the website was kind of an afterthought,” Jennifer Davis, a retail analyst at Lazard Capital Markets, told the media outlet. “They didn’t put the A-team they have now working on the site. This is a much more legitimate effort.”

The new website reportedly cost the retailer $15 million. For more on the website and its potential for success, read the full report from The Boston Globe here
