Wells Fargo To Offer Contactless Chips For Visa Cardholders

Contactless chip technology will soon find its way into the hands of some of Wells Fargo’s Visa credit card customers, as the company has announced that customers can now request cards equipped with the chips, Payments News reported on December 2.

Wells Fargo first began rolling out chip cards in 2011.

“As chip cards are become increasingly popular overseas, we want to make sure our customers have the ability to order a card from us that is designed to work wherever they go in the world,” Peter Ho, manager of digital payments for Wells Fargo’s Consumer Financial Services division, told the media outlet.
