Zomato Raises $37 Million in Series D Funding

South Asian restaurant locator service Zomato has announced $37 million in Series D funding, TechCrunch reported on November 6.

Sequoia Capital and Info Edge led the round. According to TechCrunch, Zomato has raised roughly $55 million since it launched in 2008.

Zomato CEO and founder Deepinder Goyal told the media outlet that the company is planning targeted deployment of these new resources.

“This round is going to fund these 22 countries. The approach we are following for international expansion is that we budget for a particular country and we keep that money on the side,” Goyal said in an interview.
