The U.S.-based computer technology company Dell partnered with Coinbase to enable accepting Bitcoin as a payment method option for online purchases.
After customers choose their items and select Bitcoin as payment during checkout, they will be directed to Coinbase.com to complete the transaction. Currently, the payment type is limited to people living in the U.S., but the company intends to expand internationally.
Dell’s move to accept payments follows news of South African payment processor PayFast’s acceptance of Bitcoin for more than 30,000 thousand merchants, the WSJ reported.
