Home Depot has appointed a new U.S. retail president in a bid to expand and enhance the company’s Web profile.

Craig Menear, who previously served as Home Depot’s Southwest division manager, first joined the company in 1997. His last position was head of merchandising, theWall Street Journal reported on Feb. 28.

Menear will take over for Frank Blake, Home Depot’s U.S. retail president since 2007. According to the Journal, Menear oversaw the company’s global transition, which saw it boost its existing online infrastructure and coordinate selective closings and resource deployments throughout the world.

Earlier this month, Home Depot announced it would reposition its domestic assets in a bid to expand its eCommerce presence. Read more about these moves by clickinghere.
