Shopkeep Wants SMBs To Take Back Main Street (And Is Laying Out Cash To Prove It)

As small business week rolls on nationwide wide, mPOS provider ShopKeep- a company with the modest goal of replacing ever cash register in America with an iPad and the cloud – announced yesterday that its launch of a small business incubator program that will award $15,000 in grants to help small firms pursue big dreams.

“Small business owners are some of the hardest working people I know, but they are rarely rewarded,” said Jason Richelson, Founder and CEO, ShopKeep POS. “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local communities. They employ local residents, keep money in the area and create the character of the neighborhood. We want to support the small businesses that support us.”

The Competition, which is officially title Small Biz, Big Ideas, is asking small and medium sized business owners to submit a 500 character post on Facebook describing their Big Idea. Business owners are also required to submit an image of their business.

The winners will be decided by a combination of public voting and a panel of ShopKeep judges. The best and brightest of the big ideas will receive a $10K grant, while five runner ups will receive $1,000 in funds.
