Target Forms Council To Help Accelerate Digital Efforts

Target Corp. has formed a digital advisory council to help in efforts to accelerate its digital activities online and in stores.

The council also will guide Target’s omnichannel strategies and push Target to innovate faster, and to discover new ways to leverage technology to enhance the customer experience, the company said in announcing the council’s formation.

Participants on the council include Ajay Agarwal, managing director of Bain Capital Ventures; Amy Chang, CEO and co-founder of Accompani; Roger Liew, chief technology officer at Orbitz Worldwide; and Sam Yagan, CEO of the Match Group and CEO and founder of OkCupid.

“We believe this council can play an important role in Target’s digital transformation – one of our top priorities as a company,” Casey Carl, Target president of omnichannel, said in a statement. “This new group is bringing their tremendous talents and experience to help guide Target’s strategies and tactics. They’re also providing fresh, disruptive ideas that will help us re-invent the Target run for tomorrow’s guests.”

Earlier this month, Target reported that sales initiated with its REDcards were assuming a bigger share of total store sales.
