Refund.me aids consumers in recovering money from a refund and champions consumer rights, but the refund.me Group is now entering into the space of protecting corporates and their business travelers.

The company announced on Friday (April 8) that it is introducing Business Solutions, a unit of the firm that acts as a B2B online platform to help business travelers recover funds by automating the refund claims process.

According to refund.me, the portal is designed for travel management companies and corporate travel managers and focuses on helping these players recover funds for business travelers following flight delays, cancellations and missed connections.

The tool was designed after an increase in use of the site by business travelers, the firm said.

“By outsourcing the claims process to refund.me, companies avoid the costs of internal legal and administrative teams necessary to analyze and process complex flight data and compensation claims,” said refund.me CEO and Founder Eve Büchner in a statement. “Our new B2B portal makes it easy for companies to capture compensation that might not have been cost-effective to recover previously.”

The Business Solutions tool can be customized depending on individual company travel policy, the firm added, and provides “advanced security” for sensitive corporate data.

At present, the solution is based off of European Union consumer protection legislation and can therefore only be used for travel in this market.

Refund.me noted that, under EU law, an estimated 11 million travelers a year can recover billions of dollars in compensation due to travel and service disruptions. The company stated that its consumer-servicing unit has a 98 percent success rate in getting compensation.
