Canadian Release of Sage Payroll Provides Solution for SMBs

Working to help Canadian small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) handle their administrative responsibilities, Sage has launched a new solution that integrates with Sage Accounting and simplifies accounting, payroll and human resources (HR) processes.

The Canadian release of Sage Payroll is a cloud-first solution that enables teams to manage payroll and employee data in one platform, includes employee self-serve features and is Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) compliant, according to a Tuesday (Aug. 9) press release.

“With Sage Payroll, Canadian small business owners and accountants can now run their payroll, accounting and HR processes from a single dashboard, making it easier to pay staff and track and manage HR information all in one place, to drive efficiencies and empower the workforce of today,” Steve Ryujin, vice president of small business segment at Sage Canada, said in the release.

The new solution automatically calculates the value of each employee’s payment; enables SMB owners to pay their employees anytime and anywhere; and reduces manual work and human errors, the release stated.

“For many SMBs, digital tools boost productivity and reduce cost while supporting hard-working teams to get work done more efficiently,” Ryujin said in the release.

The announcement comes three months after the company announced it had finalized its acquisition of United Kingdom cash flow forecasting software platform Futrli.

The deal allows Sage to offer proposal-to-advisory services ahead of the transition to Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self-Assessment (MTD for ITSA). Futrli focuses on helping growing businesses understand cash flow with data-driven, three-way forecast financials (profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow) using proprietary prediction algorithms.

The new Canadian release of Sage Payroll joins the company’s other solutions that digitize business processes and relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, banks and governments.
