Hyundai has rolled out new features on its showroom on Amazon for cars aimed at enhancing the car shopping experience.
The expansion lets customers see available vehicles at participating dealers, beginning the vehicle selection process on Amazon, according to a Thursday (Oct. 7) announcement.
It will let customers look for real-time inventory, contact dealers and configure and estimate the price of their Hyundai online.
In May, PYMNTS reported on the new Hyundai features on its IONIQ 5 electric vehicle, which included an in-car payment system, allowing drivers to use credit card payments through the car’s infotainment screen.

The automaker said the payments would be available through all the major brands and let drivers find and pay for electric vehicle charging, reserve parking spaces and order meals and coffee on the go.
In addition, IONIQ 5 is Hyundai’s first product that has over-the-air wireless updates for maps and multimedia software. That feature will be available twice every year for free. And it will have the Bluelink connected car service, allowing drivers to track battery life, find nearby charging stations and more.
In February. Hyundai said it had not been working alongside Apple in discussions about teaming up for an autonomous car.
“We are receiving requests for cooperation in joint development of self-driving electric vehicles from a number of companies. It has not been decided at [this] early stage,” Hyundai said in a statement to the South Korean securities regulator. “We are not conducting consultations with Apple on the development of autonomous vehicles.”

South Korea requires publicly-traded companies to give public updates when there are big rumors that could significantly move share prices.
Bloomberg had reported about the talks being underway, though they’d been recently paused by Apple. There had been, early in 2021, speculation on who would be working to develop a new electric car with the tech giant.
