The Berlin-headquartered company will also use the new funding to support its expansion in the United States and Canada and to prepare its entry into additional international markets, according to the release.
This round follows an April 2025 Series B funding round in which Pliant raised $40 million in new funding and brought its total funding to more than $100 million. At that time, Pliant was readying its expansion to the U.S.
Pliant’s modular B2B payments platform provides commercial card issuing, payment accounts, foreign exchange and spend management for businesses and artificial intelligence agents. The platform is used by businesses to manage complex payment workflows and by FinTechs, software platforms and banks to build and operate their own commercial payment offerings, according to the Wednesday press release.
Pliant’s platform includes its own AI agents that help customers automate recurring finance work. It also allows third-party agents to connect to the platform via Model Context Protocol (MCP) and embed payment workflows into business processes, per the release.
Pliant CEO and Co-Founder Malte Rau said in the release that the company’s platform has been API-first from day one and that Pliant has adopted AI both in its platform and in the company’s own operations.
“Whether an established business wants AI to automate its payment processes with the right guardrails, or an AI-native company needs a licensed partner that moves as fast as it does, Pliant is built for that,” Rau said. “This investment will help us take that foundation further, opening more of our infrastructure directly to AI agents and expanding into new markets as we build the payment platform for the next generation of business.”
Pliant’s latest funding round was led by Seaya Nova and Speedinvest.
Seaya Nova General Partner Vinoth Jayakumar said in the release that like past waves of software, AI has made infrastructure more valuable.
“When agents move money, someone still has to be licensed, auditable and liable, and that is the layer Pliant owns,” Jayakumar said. “Malte, [Pliant Co-Founder Fabian Terner] and the team have built principal-member card issuing, payment accounts and FX into a single modular platform that businesses, banks and now AI agents can build on.”
