Givingli Taps Blackhawk Network For eGift Technology

Digital greeting card and gifting company Givingli has chosen Blackhawk Network to provide its app users with digital gift card selections. Givingli is an app that brings together greetings created by indie artists, customization functionalities, and gifts from brands, according to a Thursday (Jan. 14) announcement.

“We value Blackhawk’s reliable integrations and powerful connections to some of the world’s best brands in addition to its innovative approaches to helping us solve some of our most daunting challenges,” Givingli CEO and Co-Founder Nicole Emrani Green said in the announcement. “Blackhawk helped us grow our business and is continuing to help us push the envelope for superior digital gifting capabilities.”

Blackhawk allows for eGift sales through Givingli’s app, with the inclusion of cards that can be used at travel, food and beverage, and health and beauty brands. eGifts can be given in amounts between $5 and $500. Blackhawk’s functionalities can also help retailers get in front of new audiences through a gifting channel that is surfacing quickly.

“Givingli recognizes that technology, mobile lifestyles and an increasing demand for contactless payment options are paving the way for gifting innovation,” Brett Narlinger, head of Global Commerce at Blackhawk Network, said in the announcement. “We are seeing more and more shoppers actively seek out digital shopping experiences as a result of COVID-19, and online and mobile gifting and rewards delivery have emerged as multigenerational lifelines.”

Givingli’s app provides virtual greeting cards and gifts for different events, such as birthdays or holidays, while companies can also use the service to thank or recognize employees. Those who are sent eGifts can redeem them upon delivery through various contactless channels.

The news comes as Kroger shoppers can now order gift cards to pick up curbside, as well as their grocery purchases, at 1,900 of the company’s locations across the country, according to a December release from Blackhawk Network. The tie-up between Kroger and Blackhawk Network uses the latter firm’s on-demand activation features.
