Payroc, Zuza Team on POS Tech for Beauty, Fitness

Global payment processing and merchant acquirer organization Payroc has announced a partnership with software platform Zuza to create a white-label version of its point-of-sale (POS) software called BloomPOS for the salon, spa and gym market, according to a Thursday (Sept. 30) press release.

BloomPOS by Zuza includes online appointment scheduling with text and email appointment reminders, the release stated.

“In the last 18 months especially, merchants in the fitness and beauty space have realized that the ability to adapt quickly can be a game-changer,” said Zuza CEO Danny Mikhail in the release, adding that BloomPOS allows merchants to scale and manage their businesses.

BloomPOS by Zuza will enable Payroc’s merchants with multiple businesses and stylists in one location to function with no issues or confusion, according to the release.

In April, Payroc WorldAccess announced the acquisition of Retriever Merchant Solutions, one of the largest independent sales organizations of financial information systems.

The acquisition means Payroc serves more than 100,000 merchants in about 40 countries. The companies are targeting common sense underwriting and risk management, global device connectivity, modern application programming interfaces (APIs) and Payroc’s Consumer Choice program in the early part of the partnership.

Payroc was formed in 2019 out of a multicompany merger between Payroc, Payscape, NXGEN and BluePay. While the original plan was one of digitization and integration, the project was accelerated when the pandemic began.

Retriever employs 60 workers and helps 30,000 merchants in a variety of verticals, including retail, restaurant, wholesale and jewelry, with an annual payment volume of about $5 billion.

In January, Payroc announced Payroc Health, which features healthcare payment processing and practice management in one platform. As a result, customers make secure payments, and medical practices have increased collections.
