Camping World Unveils Growth Plans In Three States

After announcing acquisitions of multiple dealerships in various states, Camping World Holdings, Inc. has unveiled expansion plans in Montana, Nebraska and Delaware. The recreational vehicle and outdoor firm owns or is buying land in those states to support its “continued march toward a national recreational dealer platform,” according to a Monday (March 8) press release.

The company said that plans are in different phases of development in the Billings, Montana; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Georgetown, Delaware markets.

“We continue to fill in the missing pieces toward our goal of operating locations in the 48 contiguous states,” Camping World Holdings CEO and Chairman Marcus Lemonis said in the announcement. “In certain states, where we are unable to find a dealership to acquire, we will build our own location.”

Camping World Holdings owns and runs more than 170 SuperCenters throughout the country, in addition to an online shopping platform focused on RV sales and service, outdoor lifestyle merchandise, RV parts and accessories, and its complete collection of Good Sam offerings.

The news comes as Camping World Holdings said on Feb. 22 that it had signed a deal to buy Lee’s Family Trailer in Windham, Maine. At the time, it was reported that the deal was anticipated to close in April of 2021 and that the new Maine facility would transition to the Camping World brand.

And on Feb. 17, the company announced that it had purchased two locations in the Northeast. Stores in Hamburg, Pennsylvania and Albany, New York were created through the purchase of Boat-N-RV Superstore. “This transaction is a great step for our company as we continue to rapidly expand our footprint and product offerings across the country,” Lemonis said in the announcement of that acquisition. “We are committed to two things: locations in all 48 contiguous states and accelerating our goal of increasing market share.”
