Camping World Signs Deal To Buy Maine Location

Camping World Holdings, Inc. said on Monday (Feb. 22) that it has inked a deal to purchase Lee’s Family Trailer in Windham, Maine. The deal is expected to close in April of this year. This will be the first of at least two of the firm’s locations in the state of Maine, according to an announcement.

The new Maine facility will transition to the Camping World brand, with a goal to open in the middle of April. The SuperCenter will provide a broad array of new and pre-owned recreational vehicles, in addition to outdoor merchandise and RV accessories.

“It’s our intention with acquisitions like this to complete our goal of operating our recreational dealer platform in all 48 contiguous states,” Camping World Holdings CEO and Chairman Marcus Lemonis said in the announcement. “This achievement not only creates more convenience for our nearly 5.5 million unique customers, but sets the stage for a web-centric process to sell both new and used RVs nationwide completely online.”

Camping World Holdings owns and runs more than 170 SuperCenters throughout the country geared toward RV sales and service, outdoor lifestyle items, RV parts and accessories, and its full collection of Good Sam items and services. Camping World said it has “grown to become one of the most well-known destinations for everything RV” since its establishment in 1966.

The news comes as Camping World holdings has bought two locations in the Northeast as part of its physical expansion. Stores in Hamburg, Pennsylvania and Albany, New York were formed through the acquisition of Boat-N-RV Superstore. The locations, which are stationed near well-traveled routes with a host of outdoor activities, have been renamed to Gander RV & Outdoors.

“We are committed to two things: locations in all 48 contiguous states and accelerating our goal of increasing market share,” Lemonis said in a release announcing the New York and Pennsylvania acquisitions.
