ShipBob Teams With Walmart To Enable 2-Day Shipping For Marketplace Sellers

Logistics platform ShipBob has officially teamed with Walmart and is listed as a shipping and fulfillment offering for the retailer’s marketplace sellers, according to a Thursday (May 27) announcement.

“We are excited about the strides Walmart is making in ecommerce,” ShipBob CEO and Co-founder Dhruv Saxena said in the announcement. “Our mission is to democratize fulfillment for companies of all sizes, which is why we are excited to partner closely with best-in-class platforms like Walmart Marketplace.”

ShipBob connects with Walmart Marketplace to display free two-day delivery badging and pack two-day orders for approved Walmart Marketplace merchants.

“Helping our sellers have access to 2-day delivery options is a key priority for Walmart. We’re happy to be working with ShipBob and see this relationship as a big advantage for our sellers and customers,” Jeff Clementz, senior vice president of Walmart Marketplace, said in the announcement.

ShipBob provides two-day shipping to customers inside of the continental U.S. and says it has an on-time delivery rate of 95 percent. The company says that its platform lets companies that work in the online shopping space flourish in the “convenience economy” of the present day by contending with the expectations of quick and cost-effective shipping from their clients.

Established in 2014 out of Chicago, ShipBob launched via Y Combinator by Saxena and Divey Gulati. The firm has landed just over $130 million in funding and runs an international logistics network with 17-plus fulfillment hubs throughout four nations.

As eCommerce retail sales are on the uptick and accounting for a bigger portion of the overall pie, PYMNTS previously reported, the battle to deliver merchandise as fast and inexpensively as possible has never been tougher.

Just this week, on-demand grocery delivery upstart Gorillas announced that it is rolling out operations in the United States on May 30. The company runs different “micro warehouses” in all neighborhoods that it services to meet its value proposition of 10-minute delivery.
