Walgreens Brings Same-Day Medication Delivery To Nearly All Stores

Walgreens has expanded its same-day delivery medication delivery service. The offering is available in almost all store locations. “Same day prescription delivery is one more way Walgreens is empowering patients to easily and conveniently manage their health,” Walgreens President John Standley said in an announcement.

Harrods Wagers On Return Of Gatherings, Demand For Occasion Wear With Rentals

Luxury department store Harrods is working with the luxury rental marketplace My Wardrobe HQ, as it wagers on the return of offline events and flourishing demand for occasion wear. My Wardrobe HQ will handle promotional services in addition to logistics for the program, and Harrods will work on curation in addition to stock.

Bloomingdale’s Small-Store Concept Leans Into Consumer Experience

When Bloomingdale’s opens its new small-format store, Bloomie’s, in a D.C. suburb, customer experience will be front-and-center. Bloomingdale’s Chief Executive Tony Spring said the aim of the 20,000-square foot location is to offer “a highly edited, convenient” Bloomingdale’s experience to shoppers. While Bloomie’s will still provide customization, personalization and alternation services found at all full Bloomingdale’s locations, the products will be highly curated.

Labor Shortage May Complicate Back-To-School Shopping

New U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data suggests that the labor shortage in the retail sector could continue on through autumn, cutting into one of the largest shopping seasons of the year. Job openings in the retail industry rose in May to 974,000, up 19,000 from April. More than 780,000 left the retail sector in May – less than the number who left in April, but over the 531,000 who left in May 2020.
