Uber Tracks Flights to Eliminate Airport Waiting Times

Airport Transportation

Uber announced on Wednesday (Oct. 6) that Uber Black and Uber Black SUV customers can book rides up to a month before they need them, in an effort to expedite the process after landing at one of more than 20 airports.

Uber Black or Uber Black SUV travelers can add their flight information into the app and automatically adjust a reservation if the flight is early or delayed. Uber Black and Uber Black SUV drivers will wait up to 60 minutes for their passengers at no extra charge, the announcement says.

The new Uber Black and Uber Black SUV offerings should help riders avoid long lines caused by a driver shortage since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The airport booking option is in the Uber app under the Reserve tab; it is available at more than 20 U.S. airports, mostly in the southeast part of the country.

Some of the included airports include O’Hare International Airport, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Denver International Airport, Dulles International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
