With 30 years of tech experience and a proven track record of success, Everson will be tasked with overseeing Instacart’s retail, business development and advertising businesses, in addition to heading up policy, government affairs, legal concerns and more.

Everson replaces Nilam Ganenthiran, who is currently serving as Instacart’s president and was promoted to strategic advisor to the CEO. He also will report to Simo.

Simo said she has worked with Everson for 10 years and feels that Instacart is “lucky” to get the benefit of Everson’s talent. “Carolyn’s an industry legend, best known for cultivating strong, trusted relationships that drive strategic value for partners. At Instacart, partnerships and relationships are at the heart of everything we do,” Simo said.

Simo added that Instacart has in excess of 600 retail partners in addition to “thousands of advertisers” all working together to power the delivery platform’s marketplace.
