CITGO Launches Check Card With ZipLine

CITGO and ZipLine are pairing up to bring more value to customers, while decreasing retailer processing fees.

“The CITGO Check Card accomplishes both of those objectives,” Alan Flagg, assistant vice president of supply and marketing at CITGO, said in a release.

Together, the two companies have launched the new CITGO Check Card, which will be available at all CITGO locations and allow customers to save 1 percent every time they make a purchase using the card.

Florida-based ZipLine is known for being a mobile and card-based consumer ACH payments company leading in the convenience store space.

The new CITGO Check Card is a debit/ACH payment program intended to create loyalty by including and offering rewards for purchases made for fuel and items at CITGO stores. Decreasing retailer processing fees is the other goal — to keep merchants happy.

Like many of CITGO’s affiliated cards, consumers can pick up a CITGO Check Card at any participating CITGO location or through the online platform. They attach their bank account to the card, functioning similar to an electronic check. Transactions will be completed with the PIN pad and user ID.
