Even when a company is growing quickly, the chief financial officer (CFO) needs to stay ahead of a changing economic landscape and the challenges that it creates.
“As CFO, I help shape the company’s agenda,” Jeff Sperber, CFO of 3Pillar Global, told PYMNTS. “It’s always important for me to be forward looking and understand how changes in the business environment are going to impact us from a financial perspective, and then successfully translate that into a plan working closely with the leadership team and our board of directors to ensure we meet our financial objectives.”
Sperber joined 3Pillar Global, a builder of software products that digitally transform businesses, early last month. The company has more than doubled its revenue over the last two years while adding three more delivery centers.
Leading Companies Through Growth Cycles
When announcing it had named Sperber as its CFO, 3Pillar Global cited his years of leadership managing high-growth businesses and said it expects him to lead the company through its further anticipated growth cycles in the coming years.
“Having managed teams and businesses located across the world in my past has been very helpful so far,” Sperber said. “Also, coming from the [software-as-a-service] world and being very familiar with software development has also been beneficial.”

Companies are turning to 3Pillar to help them accelerate their digital initiatives or continue to innovate, Sperber told PYMNTS.
“Most of these companies do not have the expertise to build innovative digital products on their own, so they turn to us to help meet these demands,” Sperber said.
Collaborating With Clients
To continue growing as it has and to differentiate itself from its competitors, 3Pillar Global offers what it calls product-development-as-a-service (PDaaS).
With PDaaS, Sperber said, the company collaborates with its clients in a cycle of continuous improvement on their digital products and processes from any point in the product development life cycle.
Building Digital Products
Through it all, 3Pillar Global also seeks improvement and streamlining when it comes to payments.
“3Pillar’s specialty is building digital products, so as a result digital payment processes and workflows are intrinsically part of developing those products and are part of the end user’s experience.”
Shortly before Sperber joined 3Pillar Global, the firm received a new strategic investment.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with H.I.G. Capital for the next leg of our growth journey,” Sperber said. “Our collaboration will enable us to speed our growth, attract and develop the best and brightest product and engineering talent in the world, and accelerate us on our path to become the preeminent product development specialists in the market.”
