Well, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer group of people.
Terrorist goon squad ISIS made an attempt to hack Google for whatever passes for a reason around the insane asylum it calls a movement. In so doing, it managed to help the world rest somewhat more soundly in the knowledge that, whatever skill ISIS has with brute force and social media, it isn’t so hot at hacking.
In fairness, it did hack Google, sort of. It definitely hacked a company called Google; it just wasn’t so much the The Google it was going for. And, OK, it wasn’t actually called Google; it was called AddGoogleOnline.com, so it totally had Google in it.

“We promised to hack Google. Keep the promise inshallah, expect us today,” bragged the Cyber Caliphate Army (CCA), the terrorist group’s tech wing.
Didn’t really work out that way, though it did get to display a logo of the hackers, while playing an Islamic State song in French and displaying the phrase “Hacked By: CCA.” If it had been the right page, it would have been really, really effective.
But it wasn’t, so the terrorists didn’t end up looking so scary.

In fact, even the site it hacked had a response for it less than a day later:
“Eat this ISIS ,/,.”
