This project, which they plan to launch in 2027, is the first such joint solution FedEx Dataworks and Stripe plan to develop under a new strategic collaboration that will combine signals from the global FedEx network and Stripe financial infrastructure, according to the release.

These real-time operational signals will enable Stripe to make lending decisions more quickly than traditional processes that rely on bank statements and credit scores, per the release.

Vishal Talwar, executive vice president, chief digital and information officer of FedEx Corp., and president of FedEx Dataworks, said in the release: “Every day, FedEx helps move more than $2 trillion in global commerce, giving us unique visibility into how businesses operate.”

John Collison, co-founder and president of Stripe, said in the release, speaking of the partnership: “Together, we can turn the operational momentum of a small business, like shipping a thousand packages a week, into access to growth finance through Stripe Capital.”

The companies also announced Tuesday that FedEx will begin using Stripe as an option to process payments. This move will add more than 50 new payment options to FedEx checkouts, expanding payment options for FedEx customers globally, and allowing them to pay how they prefer, according to the release.

PYMNTS reported in March that during an earnings call, FedEx highlighted FedEx Dataworks as one of the company’s initiatives through which the company is investing in tools designed to digitize supply chains, optimize routing and provide customers with greater visibility into shipments.

Meanwhile, Stripe reported in February, in its 2025 annual letter, that the total volume generated by businesses running on Stripe increased 34% year over year in 2025 and reached $1.9 trillion. That figure amounts to about 1.6% of global gross domestic product, the company said.
