    Alibaba reportedly earned $17.8 billion in gross merchandise volume during this year’s Singles’ Day — just more than a 32 percent increase over last year’s figures. For comparison, Cyber Monday is only expected to bring in $3.07 billion this year.

    Orders came in at a rate of 175,000 per second, with 82 percent of total purchases made on mobile devices.
