Apple made the redesigned Health app available to developers in its iOS 27.3 developer beta Tuesday and will make it available to users as a free software update by the end of the year, according to the release.

The new Health app is built with the company’s AI, Apple Intelligence, at its core and can offer users insights on how to optimize their day and the long-term wellbeing, the release said.

The new Health app includes an Insights Tab that summarizes heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking data throughout the day; a For You section that provides tailored recommendations on things like improving sleep; dynamic health content such as educational videos and articles; a Longevity tab that analyzes metrics across heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition; and a Health Age feature that translates data on VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability into a metric that compares the user’s body to their chronological age, per the release.

The update also enables the use of an iPhone camera and Apple Watch to generate “at-home movement evaluations” that measure the user’s flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max, per the release.

Apple also announced in developer news that together with Tuesday’s release of developer betas for the operating systems for many of its devices, the company offers a new Developer Preview that enables developers to integrate their app with Siri AI.

Tuesday’s launch includes iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 beta, according to the article.

“Today’s preview allows any app to bring its content and actions directly into Siri AI by using App Intents, making it easier for all apps to tap into Siri AI’s newest capabilities, including personal context understanding, onscreen awareness, natural language and more,” Apple told developers in the article. “So people can just ask for help in their own words, and Siri AI carries out any custom action you’ve built, from checking a delivery to booking a reservation to placing an order.”

Apple released its AI-powered Siri AI in beta in September, saying the assistant is now more capable with personal context understanding, world knowledge, onscreen awareness and more systemwide app actions.

Apple CEO John Ternus said during a Monday (Nov. 2) earnings call that the company is preparing to charge customers for expanded access to certain AI features, PYMNTS reported.
