Fiverr Unveils Freelancer Loyalty Program

Online freelance services marketplace Fiverr has launched its Seller Plus subscription-based loyalty program for freelancers, according to a Thursday (Aug. 12) press release.

The program gives freelancers access to a “dedicated success manager, faster payment clearance, growth program priority, priority support, advanced analytics and customer engagement tools, as well as exclusive events and educational content,” the release stated

“As a two-sided marketplace, it’s important that we continue innovating and bringing to life new programs that not only support the businesses that use our platform, but also the freelancers that are already earning solid income on the marketplace and those that intend to,” said Fiverr Chief Operating Officer Hila Klein in the release.

Seller Plus subscribers are given access to “a variety of additional data and tools that allow them to better evaluate the health of their Fiverr business, to improve their offerings, and to better serve their clients on Fiverr,” according to the release. That includes the ability to look at keywords in listings, seeing whether orders are coming through organic traffic or a paid and/or promoted listing, a coupon for returning customers and more.

Seller Plus success managers can help prepare subscribed freelancers for potential inclusion in Fiverr’s growth programs, including Fiverr Pro, Fiverr Choice and Rising Talent, the release stated.

The subscription fee is $29 a month, according to the release.

In separate news, Stoke CEO Shahar Erez told PYMNTS in June that on-time payments are among the largest and most impactful points of friction facing freelancers and their employers. Freelancers are at the mercy of the accounts payable (AP) department to process and pay their invoices for the services they rendered.

Unlike employees who are on the company payroll, there is not a recurring schedule of issuing payments to freelancers. The result, said Erez, is that freelancers are stuck waiting to be paid. There is legislation in some states pushing for timely payment of freelancers.

Earlier this year, Fiverr introduced a new tool that enables freelancers to offer subscriptions to the clients they work with the most. Subscriptions were to be available only to select freelancers in eight categories across the Fiverr platform at first, including social media marketing, SEO and voice-over work, before being launched in other categories.
