Food Metaverse OneRare Makes US Debut

OneRare, foodverse, metaverse

Food metaverse OneRare launched in the U.S. on Thursday (March 24) after successful deployments in other part of the world, according to a company press release.

Husband and wife team Gaurav Gupta and Supreet Raju launched the OneRare metaverse — or “foodverse” — to bring the global food and beverage industry to Web3, creating virtual experiences, food non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and games to interact with foodies around the world.

“I have long said that food has a language of its own and makes the world a happier place,” Raju said in the release. “It is what connects us and the metaverse only brings us closer together in a unique way in which we can share our culture and our food. Now, with the launch of the foodverse, there is no reason why brands and consumers can’t come together in this safe, virtual setting.”

According to the release, OneRare’s foodverse will feature zones where users can discover celebrity chefs, food brands and virtual restaurants. It features geographical areas, including a beach, forest and lakeside area, where users can explore the world at their leisure.

The foodverse also reportedly features a gaming zone with activity areas for players to “explore, earn, collect and battle.”

“The platform is incredibly unique and offers the end-user with so many opportunities to explore food,” said Gupta.

OneRare’s foodverse will allow users to claim Dish NFTs from around the world by collecting “Ingredients” and following “Recipes” to mint exclusive NFT artworks, including global cuisines, festive specials, keto and vegan-friendly recipes and signature recipes from celebrity chefs and restaurants.

“As we grow, users will also be able to swap these NFTs for real meals and deals, amalgamating our real and virtual lives,” Raju said.

Earlier this week, Mode MetaStudios, a Florida company designing virtual reality and augmented reality solutions for the B2B eCommerce space, announced the launch of a platform where manufacturers can sell goods and NFTs in the metaverse.

The company said it worked with “creators, designers, and brands to create living digital worlds, allowing users, explorers, consumers, and shoppers to step inside Web3 and find, try and buy ‘digital doppelgangers’ of nearly any product.”
