Gig App Provider Ranking Welcomes an 11th Competitor to the Top 10

For those looking to pull in some extra money, the latest PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Gig Economy Apps offers options. In fact, this month’s top 10 includes 11 competitors.

One app is new to the list, having improved its score by two and earned a spot among this elite group. The other apps were here last time. While there’s been some shifting of positions, the top three spots are held by the apps that held them last month.

The Top 5 

Topping the list again this month is DoorDash, which leads the pack with a score of 94.

Right behind, as it was last time, is Uber Driver. This app holds the second ranking again, just one point off the top score.

Also holding on to the same spot it had last time is Instacart. This app keeps its place at No. 3 with a score of 87.

In this month’s first changing of positions, Grubhub for Drivers moves up a spot from last time and now rests at No. 4.

Following behind and also climbing one spot in the rankings is Fivver. This app has lifted itself up from sixth to fifth place.

The Top 10 

Making way for those two gainers is Amazon Flex. This app scored five fewer points this month and has slipped two spots in the rankings, landing at No. 6.

In the seventh position, we have a tie. Upwork returns to this spot, where it was last month too, but now shares it with Lyft Driver, which has moved up one level in the rankings. Lyft Driver is one of this month’s movers and shakers, having bettered its previous score by three points.

Also gaining ground is Freelancer, which moves up from tenth to eighth in the standings.

At No. 9, we have TaskRabbit. This app held this position last time as well.

Rounding out this month’s top 10 is a competitor that’s new to the list this month. Snagajob added two points to its score compared to last time and now joins this elite group in the No. 10 spot.
