Payments Inflection Point Breakfast Series

You’re invited to a discussion, over breakfast on September 19 in Atlanta, of how innovation and regulation is revolutionizing the payments business, with an emphasis on what lawyers should know about this. There’s obviously a lot going now as demonstrated by the Square/Starbucks and PayPal/Discover transactions and the CFPB’s massive settlement with CapOne.

MPD Founder David Evans will give a short presentation on what’s happening in payments innovation, and MPD Managing Director and former head of the Latham & Watkins Financial Regulatory Practice, Brian Smith, will talk briefly about how law and regulation confounds innovation. These presentations will set the stage for a discussion among all of the participants of the challenges in this fast changing business and how to manage all of this change at the same time business as usual must continue. Margaret Weichert, an MPD Managing Director, will be moderating the discussion.

You will be convening a small group (about 20 guests) at the Cherokee Town & Country Club (155 West Paces Ferry Road) starting at 7:45 a.m., with the presentations starting at 8:00 a.m. sharp and the whole program concluding by 9:30 a.m. There’s no charge to attend.

We hope you can join us.
