Apple Launches Online Retail Store In Russia

Apple announced the launch of its new online store in Russia, reported The Next Web. The launch of the new online store will allow 140 million Russian consumers to directly buy iPhones, iPads, Macbooks and other Apple products from the company website.

A Russian establishment is significant for Apple because the US company does not have a physical presence in Russia. The online marketplace represents the first opportunity to sell products directly to Russian consumers. Apple’s Russian site features a live chat service and over the phone support that will allow shoppers to confirm details with an Apple employee. The site launch follows Apple’s iTunes store expansion into Russia in the latter half of 2012.
