EBay Debuts Click And Collect, eBay Now In UK

Global eCommerce giant eBay announced the launch of its new click and collect service in the UK, reported TechCrunch. The initiative essentially merges online and offline channels, allowing customers to purchase products through eBay online and then collect the item at a retail store.

Furthermore, eBay also revealed it is now offering a same-day delivery service called eBay Now. This move represents eBay’s first time expanding this service outside of the U.S. EBay has also signed an agreement with UK retailers, Argos, to help smaller eBay merchants with getting ordered home goods delivered across the chain of stores. The agreement encompasses 150 UK stores and about 50 eBay merchants, according to TechCrunch.

“This is part of the bigger picture. This is the march around the world to bring offline and online together, and offer our consumers choice,” Devin Wenig, eBay President, told TechCrunch in an interview. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Click & Collect became a global option, along with eBay Now becoming a pretty global option. We are shrinking the gap…I definitely think we can export this to other places.”
