French lawmakers are reportedly close to finalizing a new law that would prevent large online retailers from offering free shipping incentives to customers, VentureBeat reported on October 3.

    The new law aims to reduce the competitive advantage online retailers in France have over small brick-and-mortar stores. The media outlet further suggested that the law blocks eCommerce retailers from offering discounted rates on shipped items as well.
