Google Helpouts Marketplace Goes Live

Google officially launched Helpouts, its real-time commerce marketplace that leverages its live-chat service to connect merchants and consumers, on November 4, according to the official Google blog.

Brands that are already live on the service include Sephora, Weight Watchers and Rosetta Stone. However, Google moved to mitigate the service’s initial hype.

“Helpouts may not be suitable for every occasion, and it will take time to get used to interactions via real time video,” Google wrote. “We hope that the efficiency, convenience and global reach of Helpouts will make people’s lives easier in the long term.”
