Jumio Adds “Face Match” Technology To ID Verification Product

Mobile payments and ID-scanning startup firm, Jumio, announced the launch of its new facial detection technology for online and mobile identity verification services, reported TechCrunch. The solution is dubbed “Face Match,” and allows clients to match photo IDs with the end user’s real face. Jumio makes it clear that this technology is not the same as face recognition since it does not scan a person’s face for user identification.

Jumio is integrating Face Match with the Netverify line, which is a product that enables developers to scan various identity cards online to verify and authenticate a consumer’s identity. Netverify’s Face Match technology aims to combat rising financial fraud on both mobile and the web. At present, Netverify is available in 90 countries around the world.
