Alternative online hotel booking site Stayful went live on July 18, VentureBeat reported. The program allows consumers to bid on boutique hotel rooms and negotiate prices on these lodgings in real time.
Cheryl Rosner, the former president of Expedia Corporate Travel and Hotels.com, and Shariq Minhas, who had previously worked at Expedia and Hotwire, founded the company.
Rosner told the source that she believes the service will appeal to independent hotels that want to find new ways to attract customers.
