Tablet Shipments Growth Outstrips PC Demand

Tablet manufacturers are reporting big increases in new orders while demand for PCs is falling, according to VentureBeat.

Gartner, a technology research firm, reported that tablet shipments will jump by 53.4 percent this year. PC orders are expected to slide 8.4. percent.

The results indicate that mobile devices will lead overall demand this year, with phone shipments rising by 3.7 percent in 2013 while desktop and laptop orders could slip as much as 11.2 percent.
