Western Union, Bank of Beirut Allows Money Transfers Online

Western Union has teamed up with the Bank of Beirut to launch Account Based Money Transfer (ABMT), which allows its customers in Lebanon to make Western Union money transfers online, reported CPI Financial. The initiative will allow Bank of Beirut customers to use the online banking platform to receive money transfers into their account. Customers will also be able to send Western Union money transfers to over 200 countries and territories.

ABMT is an extension of existing Bank of Beirut and Western Union services, which has been active since 2009. The main purpose of the extension is to allow current customers to now utilize money transfers services via the online banking platform.

“ABMT (Account Based Money Transfer) allows our customers to send and receive money transfers to and from their accounts from the comfort of their home. Currently this service is exclusively available in Lebanon at Bank of Beirut Group Our customers are now just a few clicks away from Western Union’s 515,000 agent locations in more than 200 countries and territories,” said Michael Abdelnoor, the Manager of BoB Finance.
