PayPal Expands ‘Selfie’ Mobile Payments Into Canada

Canadian consumers reportedly now can pay for food and drinks through their PayPal app at 50 Toronto locations. PayPal is enabling the locations to use its smartphone app to pay, joining others in the U.S., U.K. and Australia that already have the option, said The Toronto Star.

PayPal is enabling the locations to use its smartphone app to pay, joining others in the U.S., U.K. and Australia that already have the option, said The Toronto Star.

The app, which uses geolocation and a selfie of the customer for authentication by the clerk behind the counter, is free for iPhone, Android and Windows mobile devices.
