Heartland’s Omnichannel Engine Powers Taco Bell’s App

Heartland Payments System announced that its Heartland Omni-Channel Commerce Engine (XCE) is powering Taco Bell’s mobile ordering and payment app, which has seen 3 million downloads to date.

Using the XCE supported Taco Bell app, customers can now fully customize their orders, access an up-to-date menu with nutritional information and other details.

“Heartland has powered our in-store point-of-sale initiatives for several years, and now with a best-in-class cloud-based integration that allows our customers to order whenever and wherever they want,” said Taco Bell’s CIO Greg Fancher. “The Heartland partnership has allowed us to leverage their years of outstanding Quick Service Restaurant experience to make a powerful addition to our mobile ordering and payment app.”

Heartland’s XCE ensures that correct items are displayed to consumers on their mobile apps at the correct price for all of the 6,000 Taco Bell store locations. It also connects the app to Heartland’s IRIS software for easy ordering, point of sale system and the master data management solution for updating and maintaining the menu in the mobile app, according to a press release.

Heartland recently also announced the launch of its data security platform “Heartland Secure” system that combines three separate solutions to offer restaurateurs protection against data fraud. The company said the platform provides end-to-end encryption and tokenization, as well as EMV security solutions to protect restaurateurs against card-present data fraud.
