DiMuto, an AgriFood trade solutions firm, has debuted a B2B eCommerce marketplace connecting AgriFood suppliers, growers and exporters to importers, wholesalers and retailers, according to a Tuesday (July 12) press release.

The new multi-vendor market will create a “one-stop” destination for AgriFood products, the company said. Per the release, the wider AgriFood perishables industry has historically been “unorganized” and poorly matched demand to supply.

DiMuto Marketplace, as it’s called, will allow AgriFood players to participate in the global commerce system, sourcing items like fresh and frozen-fresh produce, livestock, meat and seafood, no matter where they are in the world.

When a buyer and seller link up and put together an order on DiMuto Marketplace, the trade is then tracked directly on DiMuto’s Trade Management Platform. There, every part of the product is digitized, tracked and unified with critical trade documents and payment information.

According to the release, all of the actions taken will be “seamlessly tracked” and viewable on the app. That will let suppliers share the information they have, including bills of lading, certificates of origins and phytosanitary certificates, among other things.

DiMuto also noted that the customer can get more peace of mind, as they’re able to view the product quality verified by DiMuto.

There have been numerous B2B innovations in the agricultural world in recent months. PYMNTS recently reported that Agrotoken, a global tokenization platform working with agrocommodities, has partnered with Pomelo and Algorand to help create a new card designed specifically for the sector.

Agrotoken had previously partnered with Visa on a new payment method to offer agricultural producers a way to use their grains as a form of payment with a card. Pomelo will be the infrastructure used to issue, distribute and process payments made with the card — and the card will be accepted in any store that takes Visa.

Meanwhile, the Algorand blockchain will be used to make things transparent and speed them up, with the blockchain offering high scalability and low energy use, as it focuses on sustainability to cut down on the environmental impact.
